'Flight of the Conchords' Ending; TV Less Funny

It's all over the interwebs today that Bret McKenzie, one half of the folk-comedy duo Flight of the Conchords, has told Q magazine that the upcoming season of their HBO show will likely be their last.

Yes, I know -- liking Flight of the Conchords means acknowledging my own shameful whiteness, but I was a big fan of the first season. Its departure means one less good comedy on TV, and one more good show to disappear from the once-bulletproof HBO.

The first season of Flight of the Conchords is nominated for three Emmys this year. Season 2 is scheduled to begin in 2009.
