Jack Black, Amy Sedaris Sign On for New Projects
There are some new high-profile projects on the horizon from a couple of excellent comedian/actors.
Jack Black has signed on to star in the umpteenth film version of Jonathan Swift's Gulliver's Travels. Variety is reporting that Black will star in the Twentieth Century Fox film, co-written by Nicholas Stoller (who directed this year's great and underrated Forgetting Sarah Marshall). Not much else is known about the movie right now, but shooting is expected to begin in March.
Amy Sedaris, who created and starred in the Comedy Central series Strangers With Candy almost a decade ago, has signed a deal, also with FOX, to create and star in a new TV show. No details on the show are available yet, but Sedaris will reunite with her Strangers With Candy co-star and creator Paul Dinello (he played art teacher Geoffrey Jellineck) , who will write and direct.
