New stand-up specials from two comedians with very devoted -- and very different -- followings will premiere this weekend.
On Saturday, the first U.S. stand-up performance from English comedian Ricky Gervais (creator of the original BBC version of The Office and Extras) will debut on HBO. The special, called Out of England: The Stand-up Special, will premiere at 8 p.m. CST on HBO. If you miss it, I'm fairly certain HBO will rerun it until you have no choice but to watch it. They tend to do that.
Then, at 8 p.m. CST on Sunday, Comedy Central will premiere Jeff Dunham's Very Special Christmas Special, the latest offering from puppet comedian Jeff Dunham. The best part about this special airing is that its holiday theme can only serve to remind us that we're less than two weeks away from A Colbert Christmas on Comedy Central, which I'm much more excited about.
Anyone else going to watch either of these? Any rabid Gervais or Dunham fans out there? Can anyone lend me $5?
