If you thought that title of Amy Schumer's first hour-long stand-up special, Mostly Sex Stuff (which recently debuted on Comedy Central), was just a cutesy attempt at irony or titillation, you would be wrong. She means it. The special is comprised of mostly sex stuff. Do with that information what you will.
What you should do is watch the special, which is very funny and, yes, very dirty, but never in a manner that's designed to be overtly shocking. Schumer doesn't talk about sex because she's deliberately trying to be dirty or "blue." She talks about sex because she has a lot to say on the subject, and because there aren't a ton of female comics tackling the topic in a way that isn't reduced to "my vagina this" and "my vagina that." The special has a weird kind of honesty to it that's very refreshing.
It also shows that there's more to Schumer than people who are only familiar with her comedy from her appearances on the past two Comedy Central roasts might know. Though she killed it at both roasts, they only required that she write great, short jokes. On Mostly Sex Stuff, Schumer is able to work more long-form, developing routines built around a single idea (that idea is usually sex). Though she can still write a killer punchline, it's great to see her getting exposure for doing something different.
