Comedian and writer Wyatt Cenac will be leaving The Daily Show with Jon Stewart. News broke yesterday that Cenac, who has been with the award-winning Comedy Central series as both a writer and an on-camera correspondent since 2008, will leave the show at the end of this year.
No indication of what's next for Cenac, who released his own stand-up special and album, Comedy Person, last year. And before we all rush to judgment about how he's on one of the best -- if not the best -- comedy shows on television and he's making a huge mistake by leaving, let's remember that Rob Corddry, Stephen Colbert, Steve Carell and Ed Helms all started on The Daily Show before breaking off to pursue their own careers. It hasn't worked out too badly for any of them.
Cenac's last appearance on the show will be December 13th.
