Because he's one of the last remaining comedians without his own podcast, Jeff Garlin has launched "By the Way: A Conversation with Jeff Garlin," his own weekly show on the Earwolf podcast network (home to other great comedy podcasts like "Who Charted?" and "How Did This Get Made?," plus several more that are not in the form of a question). The first episode is already available, featuring Garlin and his Curb Your Enthusiasm co-star/collaborator Larry David.
The format of the show is that it's just a conversation -- not an interview, really, but just Garlin talking with his celebrity friends. The comic, who is best known in the podcasting world for his appearances on Doug Benson's Doug Loves Movies podcast (on which he, Pete Holmes and T.J. Miller have been branded the three loudest and most obnoxious guests), has been taping interviews for some time and never knew what to do with the recordings. He was approached by Earwolf with the idea of doing a podcast, and now those interviews can finally be heard.
Future guests are scheduled to include Jeff Tweedy of Wilco, Sarah Silverman, Judd Apatow, actress/director Lena Dunham and pop star Shakira. I have to hear a conversation between Jeff Garlin and Shakira.
