The 2000s were a big decade for comedy, thanks in part to new technologies like YouTube, MySpace and Facebook helping to make comedians more visible and launching the careers of many new stand-ups. Comedy once again became mainstream, recalling the salad days of the 1980s: you couldn't go anywhere without being exposed to a comic.
